no food pictures today

I thought this was a bathtub in a design store. But no! It was a giant soup bowl (8 feet across) in one of the many closed galleries (August is vacation time here in Berlin). This made me happy like no other art I've seen so far on my trip. Artist unknown.

Red Currants are delicious.

Shot video today but didn't have time to edit it. It's really great too. Brandenburg Gate and stuff in the Mitte. Then this giant elephant came charging down the street. People we're screaming "Run for your lives!" (only in german), but my battery had died just as I saw the giant elephant. I'll put the other footage up tomorrow.

got brave and rode the subway today. walked to the gallery district. only found one gallery, but i didn't try very hard. checkpoint charlie tomorrow. time to change my shoes...

Living in the East

Berlin Day 1

yay. i made it to berlin. could be oakland, but made of stone. funky and lively. very nice people. ordered a beer and a taxi auf deutsch today. tired from the flight so this post is lazy. very short film to follow.
